ASUS memamerkan produk dan teknologi yang melengkapi konsep "seamless mobility" pada ajang Mobile World Congress yang digelar di Barcelona, Spanyol, tahun ini. Acer belum begitu menunjukkan taji di dunia smartphone. Pabrikan asal Taiwan ini pun coba kembali dengan kehadiran Acer Iconia Smart, sebuah smartphone berbasis versi terbaru Android untuk ponsel, yakni Gingerbread.

Iconia Smart mengusung layar besar di dunia smartphone, yakni 4,8 Inch. Resolusinya 1024x480 dengan rasio layar 21:9. Di dalamnya, prosesor 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon jadi nyawa ponsel yang sebelumnya sudah hadir penampakannya ini.

Bersama lini smartphone Liquid, Iconia Smart menambah portofolio Acer dalam usaha melawan dominasi para raksasa di ranah smartphone. Acer menargetkan dapat menjual 5 juta smartphone pada tahun 2011.


ZTE meramaikan Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 dengan meluncurkan smartphone bernama Skate. Sama seperti Iconia Smart, ponsel ini juga menggandeng OS Android Gingerbread, meski spesifikasinya lebih rendah.

Seperti dikutip detikINET dari eWeek, Selasa (15/2/2011), ZTE Skate mengadopsi prosesor 800 MHz. Untuk merekam momen penting, Skate dibekali kamera 5 megapixel.

ZTE baru-baru ini mencetak prestasi dengan menyingkirkan Apple sebagai vendor ponsel keempat terbesar di dunia. Kebanyakan penjualan vendor asal China ini mengandalkan jajaran ponsel berharga terjangkau. ZTE Skate sendiri diprediksi berharga cukup murah meski ZTE belum menyebutkannya.

HTC menjalankan ponsel tersebut dengan platform Android di bawah 2,4. Namun fitur Sense-nya telah disesuaikan. Mengacu pada kesuksesan jejaring sosial Facebook besutan Mark Zuckerberg, HTC menambahkan tombol biru di kedua ponsel itu.

Tombol tersebut sebagai penanda setiap terkoneksi dengan Facebook. Pengguna dapat langsung terhubung secara otomatis dengan jejaring sosial. HTC ChaCha meiliki layar sentuh 2,6 inci dengan resolusi 480 x 320. Tetapi tak banyak penjelasan tentang ChaCha ini.

Keduanya memiliki banyak kesamaan teknologi yang dibenamkan di dalamnya, seperti Chip-set Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz dan RAM 512 Megabita.

Keduanya mempunyai dua kamera autofokus dengan LED Flash 5 megapiksel di bagian belakang ponsel dan kamera VGA di bagian depan. HTC merencanakan Salsa dan ChaCha ini bisa menggoyang konsumen secara global sebelum akhir kuartal kedua.

Kedua ponsel ini diumumkan dengan harga di atas HTC Wildfire S tetapi di bawah harga HTC Desire S dan HTC Incredible S.
